Protean artist and "image‑maker" Jean‑Paul Goude has left an indelible mark on the collective unconscious. With a singular vision of a "redrawn" world infused with humour, he explores photo, video, advertising and performance art. His iconic works, more personal projects and never before seen creations are brought together in this new exhibition designed by the artist himself. "In Goude we trust!" also covers the nearly 30 years of relationship between Jean‑Paul Goude and CHANEL. From this collaboration films were born that have marked advertising history and iconic images that have become true classics.

CHANEL AND JEAN-PAUL GOUDE
On July 14th 1989, Jean‑Paul Goude took over the Champs Élysées for what was to be an iconic procession marking the Bicentennial Parade of the French Revolution. The next day Jacques Helleu, then artistic director of Perfume, Beauty and Jewellery at CHANEL, invited him to design the campaign for a future perfume, the provocatively named Égoïste. Thus was born a collaboration that continues to this day and Jean‑Paul Goude's bold representations of the faces of CHANEL. The exhibition tells the story of this powerful creative dialogue epitomised in major advertising films, and pays tribute to Gabrielle Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld.
